2. NATIONAL STROKE ASSOCIATION OF MALAYSIA (NASAM)
-To
provide rehab services to enable stroke survivors to return to as normal a life
as possible within the limits of their disabilities.

promote the concept of stroke prevention by raising public awareness on the
risk of stroke.

3. Spastic Children Association of Selangor & Federal Territor (SCAS&FT)
HISTORY
• The
Spastic Children’s Association of Selangor and Federal Territory has come a
long way since its
humble beginnings
in 1960.
• It
has now become the vital link to bring hope to spastic children so
that parents
with children suffering from cerebral palsy could seek help and assistance from
trained
personnel.
What
is Spastic Children Associated of Selangor & Federal Territory
• A“spastic” is a person with Cerebral Palsy. It is due to damage or failure to develop
normally in a small part of the brain controlling these activities.
• They
clumsy in
their walk or difficulties
with
their limbs or with muscles that help with speech. Some are even unable to
stand or sit and to
do
even simple things for themselves.
ROLES OF PHYSIOTHERAPY
• Maintain
the child’s body in its best mechanical order to prevent joints and muscles
from tightening and shortening
• Facilitate normal movement developmental patterns.
• Facilitate and improve function to achieve maximum independence possible.
• Physiotherapy
is not confined only to the department or gym but extends to the swimming pool
(hydrotherapy) and riding grounds (hippotherapy).

effectiveness of the
Association
depends on public support. You can help to provide hope for the Spastic
Children by becoming a regular donor or sponsor, and also a volunteer.

•Children of schooling age are admitted at the school section.
•This school carries out both teaching and extra curricular activities including sports ,swimming,outings,. horse riding, gardening and needle work.
HOW TO BE HELPER IN SCAS & FT
1. accepts any form of donation such as voluntary services,credit card donation and material donation list
2. cheque is payable to Spastic Children’s Association of Selangor & Federal Territory or SCAS & FT. Donors are advised to put their name, contact no. and postal address behind the cheque. An official receipt will be issued for cash/ cheque donation
